Account & Data Deletion

Manage your HyperBook data privacy

How to Delete Your Account

You can request the permanent deletion of your HyperBook account and all associated data through one of the following methods:

1 Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

This is the fastest way to delete your data. Once confirmed, your account is immediately deactivated and queued for permanent erasure.

  • Open the HyperBook App on your mobile device.
  • Tap on your profile icon or go to Settings.
  • Scroll to the bottom and select Delete Account.
  • Review the warning and tap Confirm Permanent Deletion.

2 Method 2: Manual Email Request

If you no longer have the app installed, send a request from your registered email address to our support team:

To: thehyperbookdeveloper+support@gmail.com

Subject: Account and Data Deletion Request

*Please note that manual requests require identity verification and take longer to process.

What data is deleted?

Upon completion of your deletion request, we permanently remove the following from our live production servers:

  • Profile Information: Your name, email address, bio, and account preferences.
  • Study Materials: All uploaded photos of textbooks, notes, and handwritten materials.
  • Academic History: Every AI-generated mock exam, your submitted answers, and final scores.
  • Family Connections: All guardian links between parent and student accounts.

What data is kept?

To comply with legal, financial, and security obligations, some data is retained for a limited period:

  • Financial Records: Records of premium credit purchases (Transaction IDs via Paystack/App Stores) are retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and audit regulations in the Republic of Ghana.
  • Security & Abuse Prevention: Technical logs containing IP addresses associated with previous logins are kept for 90 days to prevent fraud.

Processing Timeframe

Automated requests (Method 1) are processed immediately. Manual email requests (Method 2) are typically fulfilled within 30 days. Once the deletion is finalized, your data cannot be recovered.
